Margaret was very active in her church, from an early age on, first at House of Hope Presbyterian, in St. Paul, MN, then at Macalester College, then at Presbyterian churches at Mankato, and in Eau Claire, in choirs, as a soprano soloist, and as a Sunday School teacher, and, at one time, Director of Christian Education. She worked as a volunteer for her church with migrant workers in Colorado, and as a lay preacher in Vermont. Her academic interest was the History of the Protestant Church in France.
Her life was centered around her husband and his work as a foreign language professor, and the upbringing and schooling of their two sons. She taught them in Sunday School, sang with them in the choir, worked as a volunteer in school libraries and on PTO committees, accompanied her husband on school functions and travels and served as a judge at French high school poetry contests for many years.
She led a happy, productive life, has been loved and appreciated by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, and by her older brother, Richard.
