After a courageous and inspirational battle with pancreatic cancer, Tricia Marie
(Sturz) Tollefson (Tricia~Dishy~Pooh), age 41 of Eau Claire, WI., passed away on April 19th at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 8, 1970 in Racine, Wisconsin, daughter of Roger and Doris
Sturz.
On October 8, 2006, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Tollefson and resided in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Tricia proudly graduated from Altoona High School, Salutatorian of her 1988 high school class and will be remembered for her strong leadership, athletic and academic achievements. During her illness, the pride for her school empowered her to design scholarships that would encourage young students to pursue some of the same leadership opportunities she valued and believed in. |

Tricia went on to fulfill her life’s dream of helping children and young adults by earning her BA in education at UW-Eau Claire and a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at UW-Stout. She completed this professional journey, serving students, as Senior Student Services Coordinator at UW-Eau Claire.
Tricia had an adventurous spirit and would travel on a moment’s notice, whether it was a simple weekend of camping, a belated honeymoon to Niagara Falls, a cherished helicopter ride into The Grand Canyon with her dad or her final trip to Monaco and Paris, France in March. The outdoors was her playground. She especially loved the water, where she enjoyed canoeing, tubing, kayaking, body-surfing, and water-skiing—she loved it all.
She we will be sadly missed by her husband, Jeffrey Tollefson, step-children, Lindsey and Drew Tollefson, parents, Doris and Roger Sturz, brothers, Todd (Marla) and Tim (Marsha), sister, Tina, nephew, Kellen, niece, Katie, and her beloved pets, Molly, Gilligan, Punkin, Chloe and Kitters. She will also be dearly missed by the “Dish Network” who were amazed by her strong faith, inner strength, and devoted love for family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be at Peace Lutheran Church (501 E. Fillmore St., Eau Claire, WI) on Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm.
