Jeanne S. Volkman, age 90, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday June 16, 2011 at Mayo- Eau Claire.
Jeanne was born in Hastings, Nebraska on March 29, 1921 to Lewis and Marie
Shaulis. A member of Carlton College's Class of 1942, she worked in Minneapolis as a social worker after graduation. Jeanne married Jack Volkman in 1945, and after moving to Eau Claire, was an active participant in many organizations including:
PEO, American Red Cross, Luther Hospital, Visiting Nurse Association, and the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Jeanne also served as a substitute teacher at Eau Claire North High School for several years. |

Jeanne is preceded in death by: her parents, husband Jack, and brother Ed Shaulis. She is survived by: her sons Jeff (Lynne) and Rich (Sharon) Volkman, granddaughters Erin and Sara Volkman, nephew John (Monica) Shaulis, and nieces Sue (Richard) Thomas and Martha Shaulis.
The family would like to extend their warmest thanks to the staff of the Syverson Lutheran Home and Luther Hospital for their outstanding care over the last nine months.

Funeral services for Jeanne will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 21, 2011 at First Congregational United Church of Christ 310 Broadway Street Eau Claire with Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating. Friends may call on Monday June 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Rd., Eau Claire and again on Tuesday morning at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
