Marie A. Weissenfels, age 104 of Eau Claire passed away Saturday morning February 5, 2011 at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm on Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, N. Dewey and Division Street in Eau Claire. Father William Dhein will officiate. Private family interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will take place at the church an hour prior to the services.
She was born August 5, 1906 in Eau Claire to Marcus and Agatha (Weizenegger) Weissenfels. Marie received nurse's training at St. Mary's in Rochester. For many years, she was a registered nurse with the Eau Claire Health Department until retiring in 1968. In the next several years, she did part-time work as a R. N. at Syverson Lutheran Home. Marie was a lifelong Eau Claire resident and member of Sacred Heart Parish.
She is survived by nieces, Jeanne (Roger) Giellis of Denver, CO and Judy (Paul) Springs of Tempe, AZ, nephews, Mark Weissenfels and Steven Werner of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard and a sister, Leone Werner.
