Fern Evelyn Wenman, passed away on April 8, 2011 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Fern was born on January 11, 1935 to Robert I. Jensen and Lorraine F. Jensen in the Village of Wisconsin Dells, WI. She attended Wisconsin Dells High School and graduated in 1952. She attended UW-La Crosse and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Education. She worked in the Racine Schools and a Hillsboro, MO school.
She was married to James Wenman until his death.
Fern returned to Wisconsin in 1972. She attended UW-Stout and received her Master’s Degree as a Social Worker. She worked in Valley City and Kenmare, ND and finished up working in Newberry, MI where she retired in 1999. |

While working in Newberry, MI, Fern became involved with the Kiwanis Organization. This would become her passion for the remainder of her life. She served as a Trustee of the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan District.
Fern is survived by: her children, Brian (Tina) Welke of Oshkosh, Katrina (William) Peirson of Stockton, CA and Roben Ennis of Eau Claire; her grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica and Crystal Swift and Benjamin Pierson all of Stockton, CA, Daniel Putzer of Oshkosh, Samuel, Emily and Megan Ennis of Eau Claire, and Paul Ennis of Menomonie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lorraine Jensen; and grandsons, Christopher Swift and Daniel Ennis.
Services for Fern will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3214 Golf Road, Eau Claire with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Immanuel Lutheran Church and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
