Sandra Kay Woehrmann, age 58, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 8, 2011. Sandy fought a courageous 12-year battle against Liposarcoma. She spent the last few months living comfortably in her Eau Claire home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Sandy Woehrmann was born October 8, 1952, in Breckenridge, Minnesota and was raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Louise (Fletcher) Kalash, and her brother, Scott Kalash.

Sandy's precious surviving family includes husband, Bill Woehrmann of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and two sons; Louis (Nicole) of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Samuel (Seth Cotterell) of San Francisco, California. Sandy also leaves behind her loving brother Dwight (Sherri) Kalash of Devil's Lake, North Dakota and sister-in-law Judy (Jerry) Oren of Wahpeton, North Dakota.

Sandy was an avid swimmer and became a lifeguard and water safety instructor. She continued that love for swimming while pursuing her degree in dental hygiene. Sandy loved her work as a dental hygienist and office manager of Bill's periodontal clinic.

As Sandy fulfilled her dreams of being a devoted wife and mother, she also developed other passions including yoga, reading and gardening. Gardening was a talent unsurpassed by most. Her flower gardens were remarkable. To her delight, she earned the constant praise of visitors to her backyard sanctuary. Sandy loved to cook for her boys, Bill, Lou and Sam - and anyone else that visited. With her dogs at her feet - quiet reading was a cherished pastime. Stacks of books could always be found near any comfortable chair in the house.

Sandy treasured her family and friends; every day was made important and beautiful by those who came into her life. She touched many hearts.
