Clarence A. Kouba, 85, of 832 Wilson St.,
Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Comforts
of Home, Chippewa Falls with St. Joseph’s Hospice.
He was born September 5, 1922 in the town of Auburn, the son
of John W. and Ella (Marquardt) Kouba. Clarence was raised on
a farm and attended a country school.
On November 27, 1947 Clarence married Helen M. Dupey at Holy
Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They had been married
for 60 years.
He was employed at Armours in Eau Claire for 30 years.
Clarence was an active member of Holy Ghost Church, the
Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974 and Holy Name
Society. He served as a KC officer receiving many awards for
his service. Many of his spare hours were spent in helping to
build the present KC Hall where he always loved to help with
Bingo night. His passions included fishing, deer hunting and
being the family handyman. Friends and family will always
treasure the memories of his unselfish sharing of his time and
talent in fixing up their homes.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen; one daughter, JoAnn (Michael) Russell of Eau Claire; three sons, Stephen Kouba of Eau Claire, Mark (Patricia) Kouba of Elk Mound and Larry (Sharon) Kouba of Princeton, TX; one brother, Norman Kouba of Bloomer; one sister, Jeanette Nelson of St. Croix Beach, MN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. |
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Angeline (Norbert) Berg; brother and sister-in-law, Donald (JoAnne) Kouba; brother-in-law, Robert Nelson; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Kouba.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to the Comforts of Home and St. Joseph’s Hospice Care for taking exceptional care of our husband, Dad and Grandpa.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Holy Ghost Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Edmund Doerre will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, and until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 4:30 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. both Friday at the funeral home.
