David C. Bowe

   

  
   David C. Bowe, 63, of 12289 State Hwy 124, Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 after being diagnosed last year with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. God left him watch the harvest and then called him home. Dave never questioned his path in life and accepted his disease with calm and dignity.
 
He was born April 17, 1945 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Clarence and Albina (Tichey) Bowe. David graduated from McDonell High School in 1964 and went to UW-Madison to study agriculture for two years. He was a dairy farmer and seed salesman for Brunner & Krueger Seed Co. He married Judy A. Geissler on July 30, 1966 at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. He was a volunteer fireman for Eagle Point township for 25 years and was a lifelong member of Notre Dame Church in which he was very active.
 
David devoted his life to his family and farming. He enjoyed watching his crops grow and took pride in the results of his labor.
 
David is survived by: his wife, Judy; three daughters, Melissa Bowe of Jim Falls, Krista (Shawn) Misener and Jennifer (Jon) Willi both of Chippewa Falls; his parents both of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Jeff (Cindy) of Chippewa Falls; three sisters, Diane (Bob) Torkelson of Altoona, Vicki (Mike) Brown and Linda (Dave) Dresel both of Chippewa Falls; 8 grandchildren, Madeline, Elizabeth, Cody, Colton, Garrett, Bryan, Kennedy and Evelyn, plus baby Willi; two brothers-in-law, Hank (Dorothy) Geissler of Chippewa Falls and Robert Loew of Bloomer; two sisters-in-law, Gloria (Norman) Blum of Chippewa Falls and Betty Lou (Lowell) Glodosky of Hayward.
  
He was preceded in death by: his mother –in-law and father-in-law, Catherine and Hank Geissler; and one sister-in-law, Corrine Loew.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls. 
 
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 30, and until 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
 
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice (esp. Carol, Beth and Diane), Dr. Kidess, and Dr. Konzen for easing David’s pain. A special thank you goes out to all the neighbors, who during this difficult time, selflessly gave up of their time to help a fellow farmer. Also a heart felt thank you to Rev. Brian Jazdzewski for his continuous kindness and support. Dave enjoyed the visits, cards, and words of encouragement from family and friends.
 
Dave, Dad, Papa… we will miss you. We loved you with all our hearts. You can now rest in peace. Good Bye.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Notre Dame Children’s Fund, St. Joseph’s Hospice or CACS (Chippewa Area Catholic Schools).
