Charles E. Sanders, of Chippewa Falls, WI died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at his residence.
 
He was born in Pike County, KY.
 
As a young boy, Chuck worked in the coal mines of Southeastern KY with his father at his side. Chuck was employed by Lammers Bus Lines in De Pere, WI for numerous years, providing him the opportunity to visit the United States and Canada many times over.
 
His military service included the National Guard of Michigan and basic training at Fort Knox, KY with active duty being served in Vietnam.   
 
In March of 1987 he purchased Mr. C’s Food & Spirits (now the Village Tavern) and operated it until March of 2000. Upon retirement he did what he loved to do – working on and rebuilding old cars with his friend, Hank.
 
Chuck was a member of Eagles Arie #2213 and Moose Lodge #246.
 
Surviving are his beloved wife and best friend, Genevieve “Jennie”; two sons, Aaron (Karilyn) of Lansing, MI and Randy (Sandy) of Mason, MI; one daughter, Michelle (Steven) Sauer of Appleton, WI; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon (Jean) Sanders of Bowling Green, KY and Tommy (Kelly) Sanders of Lansing, MI; two sisters, Judy (LeRoy) McDowell of Mason, MI and Linda (Rodney) Wagner of Grand Ledge, MI; one brother-in-law, John (Peggy) Schmidt of West Salem, WI; 12 nephews, 1 niece, and several great nephews, nieces and cousins; special aunt, Connie Sanders of West Virginia; and most faithful and loyal canine companions, Tobby and Molly.
 
Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Phillip; one brother, Gary and his wife, Sue; special uncle, Eldon Sanders; several aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.
 
The family wishes to give special thanks to Deacon Mark Arnold of Notre Dame Church; Dr. Nambudiri and his staff, Laura, Cory, Wendy and Kim; hospice nurse, Lori and others that made his last days comfortable; dear neighbors, Sherri, Mickey, Nancy, Doug and Molly; special long time friends, Betty, Dean, Janice, Sue and Paul. To our precious daughter, Michelle and her family, Thank You for being with us at this most difficult time.
 
Honey, your long struggle and journey gave us all courage and faith. You are my love and my life. I will always carry you in my heart. Thank you so very much for being supportive of me and encouraging me in all my endeavors. You truly are my sunshine both now and forever. All my love. “Have a good one ex buddy.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Deacon Mark Arnold will be officiating. 
 
There will be no public visitation.
 
Private burial will be at a later date.
 
Memorials may be directed to the Chippewa County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
