Thomas C. McDonald, 78, of 8442 120th St., Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
He was born December 25, 1930 in Chippewa Falls, the son of James and Elsie (Erickson) McDonald.
Tom served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. |
He married Alice Simon on September 28, 1957 at St. Peter's Church in Tilden.
Tom farmed and owned McDonald's Petroleum Service and delivered cheese for Cow Caviar on his off days.
Tom is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Alice; two daughters, Ellen (Todd) Rochester and Sr. Maria McDonald; four sons, Patrick (Mary) McDonald, Mark McDonald, Paul (Edith) McDonald and Peter (Brigid) McDonald; grandchildren, Zechariah, Isaiah, Maggie and Elizabeth Rochester, Danielle Buescher, Michael, Aaron, Caitlin, Shane, Elsie, Samuel, Lillian and Julianna McDonald; one great grandson, Mitchell Buescher all of Chippewa Falls; and one sister-in-law, Nila (James) McDonald of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by: 5 brothers, Art, Eugene, James, Bernard McDonald and Robert McDonald in infancy; and 2 sisters, Marian Leland and Katherine Butak; and one grandson, Ezra Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, and until 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
