Albin W. Vodak, 89, a resident of the Chippewa Manor, Chippewa Falls died Friday, November 6, 2009 at the home.
 
He was born July 23, 1920 in Vernon County, Wis., the son of Emil and Matilda (Chlup) Vodak.
 
He married Charlotte Suetmeier on February 6, 1943 in Abilene, Texas.
 
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
 
He got his teaching degree from U.W. River Falls and his master's from U.W. Milwaukee. He worked as a teacher for 30 years in Wis. and then two years in Texas. He never met a piece of wood he couldn't use. He enjoyed going to garage sales.
 
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion 40 and 8 and Knight's of Columbus all in Richland Center.
 
He is survived by: his wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Barbara (Clint) Hand of Chippewa Falls; three sons, William (Vanessa) of Spicewood, Texas, Dale (Laurita) of Tyler, Texas and Thomas (Nancy) of Madison, Wis; one brother, Donald Vodak of Richland Center; two sisters, Margaret Simon of Richland Center and Helen McCumber of Gordon; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Robert Vodak; one sister, Mildred Earle; and one grandson, Scott Vodak.
 
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Robert Hoekstra will be officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, Wis. at a later date.
 
Friends may call from one hour before the time of services on Monday, November 9, at the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor.
