Alfreda Bowe, 102, of 509 High St., Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center, Chippewa Falls.
She was born June 16, 1907 in the town of Tilden, the daughter of Charles and Margaret
(Goettl) Steinmetz.
Alfreda married Arthur N. Bowe on May 18, 1927 at St. Peter's Church, Tilden.
She worked at St. Joseph's for many years and also enjoyed her weed free garden.
Alfreda was a member of St. Charles Church.
She is survived by: four sons, Cyril (Jane) Bowe of Clermont, Fla., Don "Dick" (Glenna) Bowe of Chippewa Falls, Roger (Irene) Bowe of Eau Claire and Thomas (Isabel) of Chippewa Falls; daughter-in-law, Doris Bowe of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Gerald "Jack" (Margaret) Steinmetz of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Molly Boos of Cadott and Florence Pitt of Eau Claire; 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. |

Alfreda was preceded in death by: her husband, Arthur; one son, Orville Bowe; her parents; two brothers, Charlie and Arnold Steinmetz; two sisters, Viola Hart and Gloria Zwiefelhofer; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. William P. Felix will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, town of Tilden.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 10 and until 10 a.m. Monday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. The Ladies of St. Charles will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. both Sunday at the funeral home.
