Walter H. Kammeyer, 78, of 14039 So. Eau Claire Acres, Gordon, Wis., died Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minn.
He was born October 2, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of Walter W. and Geraldine (Reed) Kammeyer.
Walter married Ruth J. Hanes on October 20, 1951 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Walter was an engineer at Honeywell in Minneapolis, Minn.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post #8329 in the township of Barnes, Wis.
He is survived by: one son, Tony (Margie) Kammeyer of Pine City, Minn.; two daughters, Carrie (Butch) Hurt of Chippewa Falls and Karen (Glen) Spitzer of Amery, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Matt (Maria) Demmer, John Spitzer, Wensday (John) Tenhover and Leah Hurt.
Walter was preceded in death by: his wife, Ruth on December 7, 2009; his parents; and one sister, Carolyn Shaefer.
Private services will be held.
The family prefers memorials in Walter's name can be made to the V.F.W. Post #8329 at 52325 Lake Rd., Barnes, Wis. 54873.
He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and friends.
