Elmer G. Kressin

   

  
   Elmer G. Kressin, 97, a resident of the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home, Chippewa Falls, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at the home.
 
He was born December 24, 1912 in the town of Tilden, the son of George and Loretta (Langel) Kressin.
 
Elmer married Theresa Bohl on September 7, 1932 in Chippewa Falls.
 
He was a farmer, then moved to Chippewa Falls and was a butcher at Peter Fox Meat Processing for most of his life. He retired in 1974 and then worked part time as a maintenance man at J.C. Penny's until 1977. He loved playing cards, fishing and auctions.
 
He was a member of St. Charles Church.
 
Elmer is survived by: one son, Irvin (Glenice) Kressin of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Karen (Dennis) Heidtke of Chippewa Falls; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Kressin of Chippewa Falls; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Agatha Dachel, Bill and Mary Jane Bohl, Mary Bowe, Otto and Doris Bohl, Robert and Patricia Bohl and Matthew and Patricia Bohl.
 
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Theresa on October 17, 1993; one son, Clarence in 2003; one great granddaughter, Emma Jo Nichols; his parents; two brothers, Arnold and Leon Kressin; two sisters, Gladys Niesen and Delores May; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. William P. Felix will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
 
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 and until 10 a.m. Thursday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
