Anna W. Liedl, 84, a resident of the Chippewa Manor, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the home.
She was born June 13, 1925 in the town of Tilden, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Hauser) Maier.
On May 21, 1947 she married Herman B. Liedl at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden.
She had worked at the Chippewa County Hospital as a nurse's aide.
She was a member of St. Charles Church.
Anna is survived by: four sons, Francis (Sherry) Liedl of Colfax, Marvin (Patricia)
Liedl, Gary (Jan) Liedl and Mark (Karen) Liedl all of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Judith
(Lanny) Roth of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Rudy (Colleen) Maier of Kennewick, Wash.; one sister, Rosina Zimmerman of Chippewa Falls; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. |
Anna was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman B. Liedl on October 21, 2000; her parents; four brothers, Carl, Joseph "Sep", Frederick "Fritz" and Roy Maier; and one grandson, Paul Roth.
Anna was a hard working farm wife. She always tended to a large garden, which led to a lot of canning. She enjoyed raising her chickens and playing cards.
She was a loving grandmother who always had time for her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Albert Sonnberger will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, and until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
